Welcome

This is Curtis Wright's political blog. I recently decided that being a journalist is something that would interest me. So, I've decided I'll find and write about stories that interest me. Hopefully I actually write something.

More Herman Cain Nonsense

Seriously, there's no way he's gonna win. He says its because we're lazy. hahahaha. There are so many people in the country that would vehemently disagree with that. Not everyone who can't find a job is lazy. Saying so is willfully ignorant. There is a great amount of luck that goes into finding one. Especially in the economic climate of the current day.

I beg of Herman Cain to recognize that hard work can only go so far. In order to make it like he did, one must get lucky at one point or another. There's legion of Americans who work hard everyday and do not get the luck. Sorry. Capitalism is designed to have winners and losers. You are pro-capitalism. Saying everyone can be a winner is denying the very system you endorse.

Herman Cain

lolol. What a comment.

"Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said the demonstrators are coming across as "anti-capitalism." The former CEO of Godfather's Pizza said the Occupy Wall Street protesters are trying to distract the country from President Obama's "failed policies."

"Don't blame Wall Street, don't blame the big banks, if you don't have a job and you're not rich, blame yourself!" Cain said. "It is not a person's fault because they succeeded, it is a person's fault if they failed. And so this is why I don't understand these demonstrations and what is it that they're looking for."

Wow. Just Wow. Yes I am anti-capitalist then. If this is what kind of country it produces, I'm anti-capitalist. His failed policies. The ones that weren't allowed to do anything because of Republicans blocking them. I will blame wall street. I will blame the banks. They were the ones who gambled with OUR mortgages, and when they lost all that money, it was ours that were devalued. We trusted you when you, "the experts", told us to get a sub prime loan. The market will keep going up. You can refinance in a couple years. Just look at that market!

You were the ones who, even though prices rose, you refused to raise our wages. When we demanded higher wages, when you could, you shipped them over seas. All so that the CEO can make some more money. Money they can keep because they can afford to hire people to know to put it in off shore accounts, so it won't be taxed. They're your loopholes. It is not a person's fault they succeeded. A lot of it is luck. There are people who put in as much or more effort than you. Now I did my research on you, and Herman Cain, you worked your way to the top. You came from nothing and you're now pretty successful. However, you have to admit that you must have gotten lucky somewhere. Hard work is important, and necessary. But you also need what Alex Smith seems to lack: luck. So telling people they are failures at life, simply because they didn't get lucky at some point, is not going to endure yourself to anyone. Sorry.

People get caner(which you did actually. Congrats on beating that. It really helped to have all the money to pay for it, yea? Good thing you worked so hard to get it). People get hit by buses. Life has its ways of fucking things up. And in this society, it's expensive if you have to stop, even if for a little bit. If you get a litte bit behind, you are screwed. That's the way nature would have it, but as rational human beings, we must strive to do better than that. We, as sympathetic individuals with the capacity for logic and empathy must try to help other human beings. Because we know that we are alive and we know we want to be comfortable. Everyone deserves a place to live, food, and safety. Corporate greed is denying Americans those first two things, and if they don't step in (which they won't because it's not their job to. Their job is a revenue number in the black) and the government doesn't, or can't, step in, there will be a revolution. People will not stand for it. History has shown us that. People get crazy when they can't feed their children.

Riots

There's riots in Greece
And they're occupying downtown Manhatten.
I honestly don't really know what is going to happen to this world.
There could be a major revolution happening.

Rant about Government

One of the things I don't miss about America is the awful state of politics over there. It's so frustratingly conservative and slow and panders to idiots. I meet someone at the Rock Social (I'll get to that more later) and we got to talking about politics. He said I'm sorry if I was offending me, and I said I liked talking politics. He pointed out that we are still having debates about creationism, where all of Europe settled that in the 1700s. The pope himself said it was wrong. Yet there are still backwards thinking people who think it could be right in America. He also thought it was hilarious that if I got hit by a bus in America, and had no insurance, that they would treat me until I wasn't dying, then throw me out on the street (but who pays for that if I have no insurance? Taxpayers. So we already have socialized medicine). Here, he was upset because Taxpayers paid to have someone change from a guy to a girl. Which is fair, a little bit. But he did had to convince a bunch of people he was actually a girl in a guys' body. So it wasn't like he just walked in and they gave it to him. But the more we talked, the more I realized that there are just so many ignorant, backwards thinking people who have votes, that hold America back. It's maddening. Obama's healthcare, which is sooo right wing here it ridiculous, was hailed as socialist in America. Our left wingers are crazy right wingers in the UK. When I got done talking to Russ, some of his friends apologized to him about him, saying, "I'm sorry he's so conservative", to which I replied, "I thought he was very reasonable". The fact is that people in the UK seem to just be nicer. They seem to not mind sharing with their neighbor (A CRAZY CONCEPT). They don't mind higher taxes if it means that more people can be happier, which then leads to greater prosperity. The post mortem love that Ronald Reagen gets just infuriates me. I had to hide Will Weis (probably not the worse thing in the world) because he kept saying ignorant things about Obama (Nobama. Soooo clever) and Reagen. Yes conservatives, less taxes and less government will lead to greater freedom. For you rich people. The people you've structurally suppressed through government constructed racism will have no chance in hell. Be a decent person. "Only in America could a movie star be President". Here in Britain, they do not pander to idiots. They don't think that they need to be nice to everyone "cause they're just different". They call them out for what they are: idiots who need to learn som basic facts before making any sort of decisions. I'm reading emails I get from Moveon.org and I'm realizing I just don't miss the awful, partisan politics bickering that happens in America. We're going to ruin the world because we can't tell the Sarin Palins to sit down and shut the hell up.

On a further note, I didn't post this in my blog about England, but I no longer believe that 9/11 was a conspiracy. 911myths.org simply just proved me wrong. I wanted to be wrong and I wanted proof that I was, and I found it. I'm glad I did. I suppose Israeli agents could actually be the ones piloting the planes, but that seems unlikely to me. The dancing Israelis can simply be dismissed and being rude, selfish individuals. They were excited that America might know what it's like the live in Israel. It was an inappropriate reaction to the situation, but not everyone reacts the same way.

The Rage I feel for Ronald Reagan

One man fucked up this country so bad. One man. Sure, he was an idiot and was really the puppet controlled by the puppet masters. But god damn it. He did it. and he did it with a smile. and he's had us convinced he was good.

The Boondocks were right. He was the devil. One of the most evil and hate mongering people ever, let alone a president of the United States. I'm so furious that people still believe he was good.

This article is chilling.

The educated left is crying out to the public. "Please. Don't follow this nonsense". They're got Op-Ed pieces written by Noam Chomsky. We've got so many smart people all trying their hardest. But then there's that boneheaded right. The rich that are so selfish that they don't care. They lie and lie to get their own way. I can't stand it. It makes me so upset that people do this.

I Can't Tell If I Agree With This

Arnuld!

OK so my train of thought went like this: So, they say that he supports the kid. Good. What an admirable thing to do. Most illegitimate children don't get finical support. He provided it. But are they being sarcastic? I can't tell. Because I can't really imagine what a woman's magazine would say about that not telling people about it, for ten years. I can't imagine them saying it was a good situation. Next paragraph, they talk about how he interviewed with the site and he said that family was of utmost importance to him. But could he be telling the truth? Supporting the family sounds a  lot like being there for them. While he is not a father figure, the child had a stepdad (I presume. The article said that both of them were married. Just not to each other. That assumes a father for the kid, yes?). It sounds to me like a cover up for a political career. But I have to say....I like Arnold. He was a good governor. He slowed the downhill economic trend a significant amount. There's not a whole lot one person can do to change the course of a state; not in democracy anyway. I think it was beneficial to the state to have him as governor. I dunno. Worth it.

Really Good Article

Well, it's not really an article. It's a bunch of letters. But they are really good. They make a lot of good points. bin Laden was a symptom on a problem. Not the cause. We're the cause.

US may look extra stupid right now.

More Trouble

I hope I'm wrong. I really do. I really hope Pakistan isn't next.

This article is already suggesting that our ties to Pakistan are suffering. Which they ought to. But let's stay out.
