Welcome

This is Curtis Wright's political blog. I recently decided that being a journalist is something that would interest me. So, I've decided I'll find and write about stories that interest me. Hopefully I actually write something.

Let No One Fool You

http://www.voanews.com/content/attacks-on-gaza-resume-after-hamas-breaks-ceasefire/1547240.html

All Hamas reaction is due to Israel killing their military leader.

They did not just start firing at Israel randomly.

The Israelis started first and now they're using it as an excuse to invade.

Disgusting.

Responce

http://powerofnarrative.blogspot.com/2012/11/yeah-yeah-nobody-knows-anything.html

It's naive and foolish to think that anything in this world would come about without busines. Sorry, there is no motivator out there that is as good as money is.

Mitt Romney

The more and more I read about Mittens, I feel like he could have been a good president. Especially if he had come at a time when the Republican right wasn't so far right. He really could be a moderate willing to compromise. He did that, back in Massachusettes. It's just unfortunately, he was forced to go as right as possible in order to appeal in the primaries, and that hurt him when he had to face Obama.

Willard would have lead to make both sides of the table happy, but there wasn't enough of a guarentee that the table wouldn't be surrounded by crazy.

Plus, his win would have made the Tea Party feel like they were on a mission from God.

George Bush

George Bush is a funny guy. He wasn't a good president, but I think he's an alright guy. I think he got shoved into being president. If someone asked you, "hey, if you do everything we tell you, you'll be president, does that sound good?", I think most people would go with it.

This is Compromise with Republicans

If we went to a public option, this wouldn't require poor people to buy things from PRIVATE COMPANIES.

This Makes Me So Mad (In That I Agree With It)

So there you have it. Illegal immigrants: 393,000. Lying moms: one. Bankers: zero. The math makes sense only because the politics are so obvious. You want to win elections, you bang on the jailable class. You build prisons and fill them with people for selling dime bags and stealing CD players. But for stealing a billion dollars? For fraud that puts a million people into foreclosure? Pass. It's not a crime. Prison is too harsh. Get them to say they're sorry, and move on. Oh, wait — let's not even make them say they're sorry. That's too mean; let's just give them a piece of paper with a government stamp on it, officially clearing them of the need to apologize, and make them pay a fine instead. But don't make them pay it out of their own pockets, and don't ask them to give back the money they stole. In fact, let them profit from their collective crimes, to the tune of a record $135 billion in pay and benefits last year. What's next? Taxpayer-funded massages for every Wall Street executive guilty of fraud?

Depressing

This is what I don't miss about America

A consumer and hyper-militarized society that defines all relationships according to market values and enshrine a "survival-of-the-fittest ethic" leaves behind a string of abandoned visions, dreams, hopes and belief in the future.

There's Weird Weather

In a bunch of places.

Like snowing in Arizona

Huge Tornados

Being really hot in Leeds, then getting cold and snowing

The list could go on

I don't see how people can deny that it's not happening? And I think that we're causing it. There's no way our existence doesn't impact it.

We'll survive it. We'll just fuck up the world in the process.

The End?

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/03/08/pat-robertson-marijuana-absolutely-should-be-legalized/

Calling it now, it's the start of the end of weed being illegal. If the religious people of the country all of a sudden think that they should decriminalize it, all the democrats will want to as well.

Please, please please make this be so. It's just such a waste of time, money and effort. It makes hardened criminals out of kids. I know a couple. It's ridiculous.

Conservatives

Conservatives have no chance at winning this year. It's another Bob Dole.
Obama is too popular. The nation is not going to chose Mitt Romney (or Newt Gingrich) over the celebrity of Barack Obama. He's too popular. People love him. The other two are too rich and white. That doesn't bode well for this economic climate.
